Honda has announced that there is a Civic Type R on the horizon, though it is pretty distant, and not expected until 2015. Honda has claimed that they intend to break the mould in terms of performance and handling, which is of course, music to our ears.
The Type R is apparently being built with the European market in mind, and will draw on Honda’s involvement in the World Touring Car Championship for inspiration. Furthermore, they are expecting the Honda Civic Type R to lap the Nurburgring in record time (for a front-wheel drive car), a record previously held by the Renault Megane RS Trophy.
This all sounds very promising and its 2015 eta has got us wishing away the years!
