CR-Vs recalled over fire concerns

Not all news is good news: A fault has been discovered in the Honda CR-V which has led to thousands of recalls across America and Europe. The fault involves the possibility of the driver’s door catching fire. Unfortunately this is not an innovative way of heating the cabin, and it could be dangerous.

The fault is present in CR-Vs which were produced between 2002 and 2006, if this applies to you, get on the phone to your local dealer and they should be helpful. Around 80,000 models have been affected in the UK and Honda is working on contacting the owners in due course.

The fault itself is caused by a problem with the window switch, which in turn allows water to get into the electrics causing further problems.crv
